Default Fuel Pump Relay Intermittent Mystery

Hi All,

2000 Blazer 2dr

-The fuel pump runs when bypassing the relay (pins 30-87)

- The relay(s) 'click' (energize?) when applying power/ignition to run position, but fuel pump does not engage/run

I say "relays" because we have swapped out other 8567 relays from the horn/liftgate/fog lamps.. etc. Including picking up a new relay.

They all 'click' and seem to be getting power, but will not power the pump.

This has been an intermittent problem for the past few months and sometimes sorted itself out when swapping relays. But now it seems permanent.

The pump only runs when bypassing the relay through pins 30-87.

Any help appreciated.

We have narrowed it down to a bad connection, either the 30 or 87 pin.

When rocking the relay front to back (of car), and the ignition on, we can get the fuel pump to run, while the relay is on an angle. Push the relay down and flush, the engine quits.

So, my next question - anyone know where to find a good tutorial on removing the fuse/relay block to access the underside and fix/clean the pins?

I can't find anything on youtube for this particular relay block.

Thanks in advance.
