fuel pump ?s
Ihave a '96 s10 blazer that just hadthe fuel pump go out. I've got a few questions about the pump.
What makes the pump shut off?Isit a pressure thing or a timer. if it's pressure, what amount of pressure does it shut off at? and is there somewhere to check a reading or somethin'?

RE: fuel pump ?s
The fuel pump is timed on initial key on.
The fuel pressure test port is located on top of the engine to the driver side and slightly behind the throttle body. It will have a small cap on it. Remove the cap and thread on the fuel pressure gauge, then key on the ignition to start the pump. If you do not get over 55psi, then something is wrong with the system. Turn the key off and watch the pressure over the next 10-15 minutes. If it drops more than 2-3psi, you have a leak somewhere in the system.
