gas gauge

my gas gauge quit working properly a couple of months ago. it kinda just spuratically moves around. it stay in on full and then it will move down to half a tank and then back up. any suggestions on what to do

Well you got three choices:
1. Replace both the fuel pump and sending unit as an assembly
2. Replace sending unit
3. Use the trip odometer in the dash and figure out you mpg and deal with it accordingly...

so i am sure that involves removing the gas tank or does it happen to be on the outside?

i bet that is big pain...how hard would that be and is it worth it

That depends on how good you consider yourself as a mechanic.. It was totally worth it for me. I paid someone to do it.. I did the fuel pump @ the same time just because that way I know and if the tank is already out then might as well do it.. so I paid like 900 CDN

it might be worth it to give it a try. i have a zr2 and the tank is right there in the back. i wouldnt think it would be too bad. just get a jack and put up underneath it and then lower it down with the jack. but who knows
