My 2002 Blazer gets approximately 184 miles on a tank of gas. Is this normal? Seems horrible to me. I was just using it occasionally but downsized and now it's my only means of transportation. Advise, suggestions? Thanks

There are too many variables involved! Too much is dependant on the terrain in your area & the state of tune of your unit and your driving habits! These units do have smallish tanks for long range cruising-but I continually attain 24-26 mpg on a weekly basis! 4.3 with the GU6 axle-in the mountains it drops to 17. The best I've gotten is 325 out of a tank running down the flat road of I-95 from MD to GA before it goes into the red zone-the gauges are NOT reliable! But I have never run out with the gauge well into the bottom red line-the most I've ever pumped into this 97 is 17.4 gallons which meant I had about 30 miles left-on flat terrain! Off roading will cause fuel starvation at low fuel levels! Hope this gives you a place to start

Greetings. I am new to the Blazer forum and I have a 98 LT with the 4.3 and average 18.7 mpg through hilly terrain.

I get about 14mpg, might as well put a v8 in it for mileage like that.

Can or will any kind of tune-up or replacement of anything improve my issue? Yeah, might as well have a V8, lol!

Heck I did a complete tuneup, I use fuel system cleaner and 14-16 is what I get.
But of course a tune up will help
