Is This a Genuine Acdelco Fuel Pump?

Edit: I can't believe I didn't notice it before, but the pump is also missing one of the metal support rods that connect the bottom to the top portion. Clearly visible in the first picture I posted. Even the picture on Amazon shows that it's supposed to have three, not two. Furthermore, someone posted a review on Amazon for the pump and they are missing the strainer and the support rod also. Not sure why they still gave it three stars. So no matter what, I am returning this POS, but I'll wait until I hear from Acdelco in case they do say that it's not genuine. Lesson learned here. I've ordered tons of stuff from Rockauto, I'll stick with them for now on.

I am with you porkfriedrice. When in doubt find out. Hopefully it is acdelco but whatever it is once you let us all know for sure this post will help others. BTW over the years I have never had an acdelco part in a plain box. They have always been similar to the box that I got, acdelco advertised on all sides.

Got this email today from Marci at GM:
Thank you for the pictures. I have had these reviewed by our GM Customer Care & Aftersales Engineers, and they have advised me that based on the pictures of the part and packaging you provided, it is a genuine fuel pump. GM recently upgraded the design for this part. The new design does not come with the strainer already attached, and only comes with two spring load supports rather than the three.
Thank you for your inquiry, and please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further questions.
======
My question is, why did they get rid of one of those supports? The holes are still there for it, and it makes the whole thing seem less stable. Looks like I worried for nothing, but Amazon should update the product photos on their site.

Good bit of homework there! I've heard rumor recently that Delphi now makes/markets the pumps for AC Delco and that Delphi has been using different vendors to manufacture them. Might be a good idea to check maximum pump output pressure and leakdown. The fuel delivery system requirements have not changed. With the pump running, it should build and regulate between 73psi and 108psi. It must remain above 55psi for at least 10 minutes after you deactivate the pump. Most aftermarket and knock off pumps won't pass both of those tests.... right out of the box.

OMG I hope not! I guess time will tell, but don't hold your breath. It's rare to get a new AC Delco/Delphi that doesn't meet factory specs. Not the case with aftermarket pumps though, it's rare to get one of them that DOES meet factory specs.

Anyway, I'm holding off on installing the pump until the weather cools off a bit, don't want to be under the truck for that long in 90+ degree heat. I know there's tons of info here about the project, hopefully I can get through it without asking for any help
Thanks guys for the input.

Have you bought any non-common, non-maintenance part from the dealership lately? Like a window switch, and instrument cluster, or a turn signal lever? I work at one and handle new Delco parts all day, every day. 95% of all of the parts I install are in plain brown boxes with a single Delco label on them.
Spark plugs, wires, oil filters, air filters, etc...are usually in the "graphic" Delco box. Anything else will come in a normal cardboard box.
