getting frustrated

have a 2000 blazer just replaced the intake man gasket..was leaking(had water in oil..think i caught it in time) since then it atarted and ran great..no leaks!! then one day just died..towed home replaced cap and rotor and then cat converter had to take it to a shop to re weld the flange to connect to muffler.drove home ok (abou`t 2 miles) now..took it to the store and it dies.got it home...will start and idle forever but when i put throttle to it it eill run for a few seconds and then die. will start once idle for few seconds and then die again.wont start after,,have to wait for a day then same thing happens.replaced the feul pump 4 yrs ago. thnx for any help.

no...check engine light doesnt come on.

Does the check engine light come on when you key on before you crank? It is supposed too. When it wont start...have you tried the Hillbilly way of checking for fuel? Will it run on ether? If so, the is another piece to the puzzle. Could be so many different things. In my opinion, the intake gasket and the converter are unrelated to the problem.

Sounds like it could be a fuel delivery issue. Have you checked the fuel filter for restriction? Might want to check fuel pressure and leakdown also. Key on, engine off, fuel pump running: pressure must be 60psi to 66psi and must remain above 55psi for 10 minutes after the pump shuts off.
