Default GM 12562571 oil pressure issue

Hello my Blazer 1997 4.3V6 starts lighting up the check gauges lamp when hot on idle 550 rpm.

So I got a new oil pressure unit with only one pin. Is this the correct part.
I pulled the counter connector from the engine harness. It has 3 pins on the connector.

When I started the replacement work I could not loose the M8 clamp screw for the distibutor. What kind of tool do you use for this operation/

Hey Bob-

They make the sender in both 1 and 3 pin versions. Since your connector is 3 pin you have the wrong part.

For reference Standard part #PS230 is the 1 pin version and #PS262 is the 3 pin.

The easiest way to loosen the distributor hold down bolt is with a 1/4" drive 10mm swivel socket, (not a universal and a socket) a 6" extention and a ratchet.

Thank you and I am really wondering.
According the GM parts catalog I have to use GM 12562571.

Now my truck was equipped with a 12553175 3 pin version. I replaced it with a 1 pin version to see if my old unit measures wrong. The gauge works but the Engine MIL is on. Looking for the oil pressure signal for check Gauges yellow lamp in dashboard which is missing.

The bad part is the GM parts catalog listed the wrong part no.

Thats bad for my. Need now the right part. Hard to find in Germany.
