Went to Auto Value for a free OBD scan, the good employee said it was the sensor on the exhaust manifold aka something upstream. Because of the cold weather it came on. It scared me because I just bought the truck. The good clerk cleared the code and it hasnt come on again.

Nice service that is offered, but be aware, DTC's never tell you to replace a part. They tell you which circuit had a malfunction, and it needs to be diagnosed. Several different things can cause an oxygen sensor DTC to show up. Keep in mind, they are in the business of selling parts, not diagnosing problems

 

Glad to hear that you could fix the problem so easy. Had a similar experience with a clerk from O'reillys on my wife's van. He read out the code, tried clearing it, and when that was no joy he printed out a list of possible reasons for the code....saved a lot of parts swapping on my end.
