headlight short
hey guys I have a problem with my 2001 chevy blazer, for some reason the headlights will not turn on, the problem started last week, so i say no big deal, probably just a fuse....WRONG. So as I was driving to school I see a small amount of smoke coming from behind the steering column so i'm like damn. (thought my blazer was gonna catch fire lol) Anyways the smoke stopped after like 5 seconds, so once I get to my school I moved the steering column up to the highest position and wa-la my lights work, I move it back down and no lights! I'm guessing its a short(pinched wire)? Which also explains the smoke.
Well I have part of the dashboard panel off and i'm trying to see if I get lucky and I see the pinched wire. I dont, so I was wondering if you guys think it is something else, or maybe have some of the wiring schematics for my blazer so I can track down the short.
Thanks In Advance!

Well guys I found my problem, there were 2 wires that came off the multifunction switch connection so I put them back in and the lights work good.
And there was a burnt wire so that explains the smoke that I had seen.
After putting everything back together my blazer wouldnt start. It usually has trouble after it sits for more than two days but eventually cranks over, well now it doesnt want to crank over..... bummer
