heat/ac cluster interchange?
#1
I'm finally getting around to rounding up all the parts I need to fix my heat being stuck on hot. I noticed that most used clusters that I find are just the ones with 4 fan speeds on them. My blazer has the "auto" on the fan ****. Will a regular 4 speed fan cluster plug into my wiring? I'd never use the "auto" anyways. I just wanted to make sure I don't buy something that won't work.
well... I finally found one that looks like mine on EBAY. It looks like the wiring is totally different between the two styles. Mine just has one plug in the back for everything. Well crap!... Mine's the more expensive ones go figure..

Very different in terms of how things work. If you have the automatic temperature control, you must have a ATC head unit as you have discovered.

I went to the junkyard last weekend.but the HVAC was already pulled from all of the s10s and blazer in the yard. It's still cold where I live. So it's not too bad driving the blazer yet. I can say... At least I had heat all winter LOL! I'm just trying to get ahead on getting some of the parts so I can adjust my temp and get it to change from defrost. I'll keep looking.. because I don't want to pay $90 for a used one if I don't have to.
