Default Hello and hhheeelllppp!!!

Hello everyone,
first i am so glad to have found this site already it has helped point me in the right direction but, now i have a problem that i have to start asking help with.
here is the situation.
my wife got a 2001 blazer 4dr. 4.3L v6 vortec .... guy told her that it just had a vacuum leak.. well turned out to be a bad IAC valve coupled with a bad mass air flow sensor ...well i got that part fixed and while i was at it cleaned the throttle body (the bottom of the flip..not sure what it's called was black from carbon build up)....so problem solved ...idles fine runs good ...TILL it gets hot ... then it doesn't matter what speed or rpm's ....it just dies ... turn it off wait a second or two and it will start back up and may run 20 seconds or 20 minutes but it will die again .......my question is this ...what is causing this ??? could it be the EGR valve causing this ...would it be as simple as the fuel filter ....or is it something this very novice mechanic has missed altogether ....thank you guys for any help you can give me and the sooner the better....it's now a depended on vehical

thanks again

Hmmmmm.....Is the service Engine Soon light on? Just curious if it has any codes stored. The only thing the comes to my mind might be the Ignition Control Module (ICM) or possibly the coil, both of which are susceptible to heat issues. On my 98 the ICM is mounted on the coil bracket and can easily be removed and tested at a local auto parts store.
