wouldn't the motor have to be running for it to be able to reach the intake though?

just wanna help you,i drive truck´s on the freeway´s so i´m gone inbetween. i never understod where your leak appears.if you never overboiled the motor i don´t believe in headgasket, ofcourse there could be bad casting and following crack wich mostly appears at hot engine, what about frezzeplugs? the fan blows pretty good and disorienters the leak,by pressure test you can see if pressure drops or even leakes

the leak appears on the driver side when it first happened I lost all my coolant and it was coming down the trans bellhousing that's why I thought it was the intake manifold gasket. now its just leaking from somewhere down low and dripping onto the motor mount. This is all when the engine is off. As soon as I pour water into the radiator it starts leaking from the low point I mentioned

Hey,
It sounds like a freeze plug. I just replaced one in my daughter's 97 jimmy a couple of months ago. I'm not going to lie, it was a pain in the butt. Replacing them is not the problem, it is getting access to the plugs themselves while the motor is in the truck.

Are you talking about the freeze plug right underneath the exhaust manifold?
