help code p1345
#1
i have a 97 blazer and i just replaced the intake and valve cover gasket and all the other ones that came with the kit and everything was running good then my engine light came on so i scanned it and got code p1345 . i know it has to do with the camshaft to crankshaft position correlation but what i dont know is what i could have done to cause this ? did i pull on some wires to hard or what . i looked and im pretty sure i plugged everything in
i was having a sluggish / bucking problem before . but after i changed the gaskets and sanded down the ground spot on the rear crossmember and re mounted it those problems seem fixed but of course there allways a new problem
ok so after reading some posts it seems like everyone else with this problems blazer wont start.... mine does and it runs way better then it had . .... alll was well till i went to go to the next job and in less then a min after pulling away my blazer shut off , i pulled over and restarted it and thats when the light came on . last night i tried to turn my dist a tooth and it seem like it went a inch and i know i wasnt off that much lol so is that where every one is talking about turning the oil pump?do i just need to give that a tiny turn and what way ?i also notice that one of the screws had fell out in the rotor and was just sitting under it on the dist. i put it back in and put some tread sealant on it and unplugged my battery for 20 mins and when i restarted it the light cam back on i have also gone over all the connectors and everything is plugged in i didnt miss anything while
please help without my blazer i cant work so that means no money

You may have messed up the CMP retard setting during the installation of the distributor. This must be set at 0 degrees and can only be set by using a scan tool capable of displaying this value as reported by the PCM. If the code persists after you set the CMP Retard, then a CASE Relearn (aka Crankshaft Variation Learn Procedure) will likely be necessary.

well a few days later on the way home from work my truck died and wouldnt start back up . should my rotor move easy with out the engine moving? and when i put a long screw driver in the hole for the distributor i couldnt feel anything turning? and after reading your timing post swart i wondered if when you put #1 to tdc and put the distributor in should the rotor be pointing at 1 or 6?
well great news...... ITS RUNNING AND GOOD .
i answered the question about the rotor turning easy...no it shouldnt lol . i replaced the distributor and everything is good . i still need to go have the relearn done but for now its running . also when i broke down the hazard button broke and now they wont turn off. so ill be doing the Broken Hazard Switch Repair as soon as the gm dealership opens .also i regrounded the ground spot on the rear crossmember , with all that done there is no more bucking or hesitation . the blazer even did a lil burn out today i hope this is the last of the problems , im really sick of this damn 100 here and 100 there
