Default Help!!Hood Latch Broken?

Ok so my buddies girlfreind has an 2001 LT Blazer that she just basically ran into the ground. Well Its been sitting for about 2 weeks and she bought a new truck and went to start the blazer and it wouldnt start. Sounds like a drained battery, so me an my bud went to pop the hood and nothing. I think I can see the latch with no tension on it under the truck. Any ideas on how to get it open with out smashing the grill apart? Haha

i know on the first gens you can get at it with a phillips head screwdriver and some patience, gotta come at it from under the hood right where the latch is and just push it the way the cable would pull it, i can only imagine it;ll be even trickier on the second gens

Maybe you might relatch and unlatch a couple of times...my 2000 LS does the same thing every once in a while, I also will tap the hood at the front with the palm of my hand and it will pop up...sometimes I even shut the door hard and it will pop up too....
