Default Help! Need a 4WD button expert. Lights not operating correctly.

I have a 2000 Blazer LT 4X4 and the lights on my Automatic 4WD are not operating correctly. The other day when I needed 4WD, I pushed the button for "4HI" and it seemed to operate correctly but when I went to put it back in "2WD" it seemed to work but the "2WD" won't stay lit. I showed it to a friend of mine who I bought the Blazer from and has extra parts and works on them for fun and he suggested a "new used" 4WD button panel. We swapped it out, started the vehicle, it cyled through all the lights and seemed to fix the problem. I've never seen mine ever cycle through the lights when I start the engine but he says it's supposed to and his does it all the time when he starts his.

Problem is back. Last night I had to switch to "4HI" for a little bit and now it is doing the same thing as before. The "2WD" won't stay lit and the lights don't cycle when I start the vehicle. I think it is going in and out of 4WD but no functioning lights. If I hold the button in the light will stay on for a little while or flash then it goes back out.

By the way, I have the "4 button" panel with the round "Auto 4WD" button.

Can some kind soul help me out?

Thanks!

Good idea, where is the 4WD fuse? Inside fuse box or under the hood?

Thanks for the reply!

In the fuse box on your driver side, atleast thats where mine is located, just look for the number (it might have a sticker indicating which fuse is what)
