Hinge Pins
The Hingepins on both front doors on my '99 Trailblazer i recently acquired are completely shot out, to the point that the latch on the drivers door is starting to dent into the B pillar and there are rusted stresscracks starting.. Are the pins undersized just as a design flaw or is this just normal? And outside of new pins is there a more permanent fix for it?

It’s the bushings that go bad but if it goes too long then the holes for the bushings get enlarged and the fix is more involved. I don’t know of a fix other than new pins and bushings.
ive done one replacement cycle on mine but I don’t remember the mileage. I’m at 205,000 now.
