Is DORMAN Part # 912001 the correct application for an o5? I can't find one specifically for this year, and rockauto has this one for up to an 01?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Considering that the hood latch that Dorman lists works from 2005 on down past 2001, it would stand to reason that the hood release cable would work as well...
GMPartsShop.com shows the hood release cable for your truck at $28 with a retail of $41. Maybe worth it to get it from the dealer.

I have a faulty release a while back and went to the dealer to take a look at it. They wanted to replace every part of the release system and quoted me $404. Then charged me $30 just to look at it.
I'm not sure if I'd check with them.
Turns out a mechanic told me to WD-40 the hell out of it. Works like new.

The parts counter people just give you the price on the part you are asking for. If you go in there informed, they can't screw you over. You know the MSRP is $41 so you should expect to pay that at most. Talk them down by quoting the GMPartsShop.com price.
Interestingly enough, a quick search through GMPartsDirect.com does show that the OE#15732159 is just up to 2001 and then the 2002-2005 is listed differently, but it doesn't tell you the number... $24 on GMPD.com.
LMCtruck.com shows the 29-0897 as being applicable to 94-04... The plot thickens.

I had a problem with my hood release too, once I managed to get it open, I lubed the hood latch (both on the hood and the upper rad cross member) and now, it pops open every time ![Smile](https://blazerforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
