New member and old geezer with 98 Blazer, four-door, 2WD, LS model with 124K+ miles. Independent shop replaced R.R. caliper that was sticking plus new pads in both rears. Told me they test drove it after repairs and realized the parking brakes were on. When I picked it up, the parking brakes seemed ok. About 30 days later, the R.R. caliper was sticking again and was replaced plus a new hose. After a few thousand miles, I realized the parking brakes were not holding well and decided to replace them myself. I did and found the adjusters were both at "zero" but the cable had been tightened significantly. Had to back off the cable a bunch to get new parking brake linings not to drag. Put it all back together and drove it less than 100 miles and found the L.R caliper was sticking. Replaced that and the hose myself and everything seemed right; minimal drag, even braking, good pedal, no leaks. no noise. My concern is the L.R. rotor temperature is consistently 50-60 degrees hotter than the R.R. rotor according to my Harbor Freight Laser thermometer! Do I still have a problem with brakes or is that just the way these old Blazers are?
