Question How do I get to the vacuum canister in the fender?

I have a 1999 blazer 4x4 which lost the brake booster because a vacuum line broke. All of the vacuum lines need to be replaced. My question is do I have to remove the fender to get to the vacuum canister?

Oh, man. I just had this problem yesterday. My vacuum line for mode door had come loose from it and I started to pull the (brake cylinder?) to push it forward out of the way. Then the mounting bracket was in the way, removed it and the mounting bracket retaining assembly that I did not know was there fell into the fender. Got it all squared away, but a PITA. Anyway, the nipple for that canister line comes into the engine right below/behind the brake cylinder. Dont have to remove anything. Just feel for it. Are you replacing the canister in the fender?

No you do not have to remove the fender you have to move some stuff out of the way but you do not have to remove the fender.

Actually, you don't have to move anything. The hose which runs to the vacuum resevoir sits on a nipple which pokes through into the engine compartment right under the power brake assembly mounting bracket. You can't see it very well, but you can feel it and access it well enough to attach the hose by hand. If it is still attached, follow the 5/32 hose from the 'T' valve to the wall of the engine compartment. This is it. The other 5/32 hose runs to your cabin air diverter/actuator alongside the wiring harness to your Defrost controls...

What if there is no nipple? I can only feel a hole.
