Question How do you do this?

I have a 95 GMC Jimmy, great vehicle but a bear to work on. Recently i found a problem with the A/C. No matter what setting i have it on the vents are pouring out hot air from the engine, not the greatest thing to have happen in florida i might add. Anyway long story short, after i looked closer I figured out that the problem was the plenum door actuator (i think). After i researched it some i figured out that i have to take the entire dash out of the car. Oh joy.
Anyone have any ideas or tips for how to make it a little easier or has anyone ever had to do this before?

i've never had to repair this, but have removed the complete dash assembly from a '98 Jimmy that i was stripping (sorry, parting out, bad choice of words) . if i remember correctly, that's the one that is near the bottom of the dash, right? the biggest problem is, that no matter what, in the end, you'll realize that the dash should be taken right out. it'll be a hell of alot easier, 'cause the dash carrier will want to fall on your head when ever you try to prop it up after unbolting it. i remember the wiring harness was the "funnest" part to remove from the carrier itself (the wiring harness will "stretch" enough to get at the clips/screws holding it there). you'll know when you've removed all of the bolts for the carrier as it will easily move (even one bolt will make the darn thing stay put). remember to label everything really well when disassembling. good luck.
