How to drain the fluid from the front diff?
I have a 97 Blazer4x4. I did not find a drain plug for the front gear box. Any Suggestions?

For the front diff, there is a drain plug near the bottom of the main housing near the split in the case. HTH

I don't think that the earlier front diffs had a drain. If this is the case, then you'll need to get a transfer pump (hand powered are available for not a lot of $$$) and suck out all of the fluid out of the fill hole.

Agreed with swartlkk, I have a 98 and no drain plug that I could see so I just got a hand pump for like less than $10. It worked great and was good for removing the fluid from the front and rear diff and then adding the new stuff, it just screwed onto the top of the quart bottles.

I think the drain plug may look like one of the housing bolts on the '98 model.

Yep, it looks exactly like a housing bolt, except it's got the little tell-tale plastic ring under the head of the bolt... If there is one... My Haynes manual tells me the front diff has no drain plug at all, even though mine is there, lol.
