Default hvac drama and other gremlins

alright got a wierd ac and heat issue. my heat blows nonstop no matter what the temp is set at or speed. it doesntneed to be recharged i checked that and the compressor turns on and off a lot. i have a 98 blazer lt 4 door 4x4with the dual zone climate control. any one had simliar issues..what did you do to fix? also i got a draw somewhere, is there a common place that these things get draws from? ok bear with me a few more questions.mypower seats quit working but the heated part still works,is this normal and how do i fix? ok i think i have one more question. the speakers in the rear doors do not work at all... butthere is "supposedly" power getting to them. ohyeah the damn tranny shifts hard as f*** going into second chirps the tires lol, do i just need a trans flush or something more expensive. thanks for all the help in advance.

Power seat problems typically originate in the wiring channel that runs under the carpet. It is easiest to get to by removing the seats. The fault is rather apparent.

As far as your HVAC system, it sounds as though the temperature door is not working properly. It should shut off flow over the heater core and direct it through the A/C core when cold is selected. IIRC, this door is controlled by an electronic actuator that is located on top of the HVAC housing and is accessible by dropping down the glove box.

As far as your current draw, you will need to isolate the circuit at fault. It is possible that the draw is from your power seats and may be fixed when you find the issue there.

Has your trans always shifted hard since you've owned your Blazer? If so, someone could have installed a shift kit, or aftermarket apply piston. If not, you could be developing trans issues that will require a rebuild in the future. The 4L60E transmissions are good transmissions but they did have a whole slew of issues that caused problems.

yeah i will have to check those seats out, good thinking about the draw possibly coming from there also. as far as the tranny goes, the hard shifting is a new thing, and only 2nd gear...the rpms will climb real high then decide to shift hard. thx for the help.

my tranny was doing that too, had it checked and sure enough it needed a rebuild. what would happen would be around 20 minutes of driving give or take, then at a light going to take off all would be well until it was about to go into 2nd and then bam felt like you hit something, then the dreaded check engine light which was a tranny code that poped, i cant remember which one it was but yea $1650 later i have all the updates and it shifts nicely.
