Default HVAC problems

Installed some Hella 500's tonight on a bull bar. Everything works as planned however, the HVAC controls only allow air to flow out of the main vents in the dash now. I ran the light wire through the driver side firewall if that matters at all. Also, took out most of the dash to mount the switch. What could have caused this issue? Everything worked somewhat normal before.

Also, I have the computer climate control. I have noticed that moving the temp gauge to a lower temp caused it to blow cold air no matter what the setting. Any ideas? Thanks.

Check all your vacuum lines for one knocked off.

Yeah I suspected that as well. Gave the engine bay a quick look over yesterday and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Will have to poke around and check all the lines when I have some more time.

I'm with RonJon on this one - you almost certainly have a vacuum line that is disconnected somewhere. Before you take the dash apart again, follow the HVAC vacuum line that runs through the firewall back & see if it's disconnected in the engine bay. It will save a lot of unnecessary work if that were to be the case. One of my lines came off where it goes into the little vacuum reservoir behind the fender - it caused all sorts of weird things to happen to the HVAC system as well as affecting the 4wd operation too.

The strange thing is my 4wd still functions properly. I figured that the HVAC problems would have caused the 4wd to not work too. I am going to check the lines tonight though and see what I can find. Thanks guys.
