Default Hydraulics to lift a 4x4???

I was thinking of coming up with a hydraulic setup on my jimmy to lift it a few inches since lift kits are too expensive. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this?? I am thinking of taking the shocks off and mounting the cylinders in their place with coil overs on the cylinders. I will have to make a plate that bolts to the top of the shock mount and sit on the spring, any ideas?

Your still only gonna be able to lift it 1.5 in the front before you run into ball joint and cv joint issues. You can get that amount free
