OK now that I have your Attention, My wife's blazier 98 4.3 water pump went out while on the hi-way (there was no shoulder or gas station I guess). Fast forward, replaced the waterpump,wires, distru., plugs, Had the heads machined new valves, All new gaskets, instead of $1,000 got er done for $320 Well went to fire it up, timing's off,,, I have the #1 cylnder top dead center,,, on the cap does the rotor need to be pointing towords the #1 or #6 I have had differnt answers and it's driving me nuts!!! I am tdc on the #1 thanks to swi... thanks.... zeb
take out the #1 spark plug check for compression (put finger over hole have someone quickly click the ignition key when your finger feels the comp, Compreesion stroke of that cylinder) then put the rotor facing #1 spark plug TDC
