Default idk wut to call this thread...

Well I wont lie I never thought I would own a blazer… when I worked for firestone I swear we would have one come in everyday that need new ball joints, or some front end part… but I came a crossed what I think was a good deal… anyway I talked the owner down from 4300 to 3500... It has a lot of miles but he took good care of it… (138000 miles)…
Problems this far:
1.) passenger wheel bearing is going out (easy fix no big deal)
2.) ac doesn’t blow cold air (filled with refrigerant coolant dint help, made an appointment to take it to a shop)
3.) the 4x4 switch or the wires behind it have a short. (going to pull the 4x4 switch out of my sister blazer to see if hers works in mine, if it doesn’t that kindda sucks because I don’t kno how hard it would be to replace the wires)

Other then that really like it so far… put sea foam in the tb to clean everything (it dint even have black smoke come out after I did it… is that weird?)… and I changed the oil with mobil1 10w30 high mileage blend…

welcome. I am now trying to find another blazer since I traded it in on my truck.

On the $x$, is it blowing fuses when you try to activate 4wd? Common issue in these trucks., It is a short in the switch itself. 35 bucks at a dealership for a new seitch.

But glad to have ya!

No there is a bunch of wires going to the connector , and I believe it a small black wire that is a little lose… played around with it a little bit, and that’s what I’ve narrowed it down too. Its pretty crappy outside right now, and I don’t feel like messing with it anymore tonight… but yea not blowing any fuses…

Also the dam service engine light is on… and I was thinking that all I had to do was turn the key to run, and tap the gas 3 time to get it off, but that’s not working very well… and to add to that the guy I bought it from said the check engine light would always pop back on for him even after he took it in to have it taken off. The same thing happens with my sister blazer…. Anyone have insight on that?

And one more thing… y is there no post count on this forum?

lol oh never mind on the post count i found were its at now

The ses light should be for oil changes (it should come on 3000 miles after you reset it)… the check engine light should be for the trouble codes… if that’s an incorrect statement someone plz correct me…

Negative. There is no such thing as an oil life monitor (OLM) on a Blazer. The CEL or SES light (depending on the year of your truck) is to let you know that something is wrong with the engine. I don't see anything in your posts stating what year Blazer you have. Creating a signature with your vehicle info will make helping you much easier.

...and please create a signature for your posts (see mine as an example). Let us know what the codes are when you get them read.
