Ignition problem: key turns to all positions, won't come out, no power. please help
Hello eveyone,
My Dad has a 2003 Chevy Blazer LS 2DR. Yesterday after turning on the car to go to work, he felt a weird noise coming from the engine, nothing drastic, but he said the car didn't feel right when he turned it on. Anyways..he drove it to work ok, but when coming back home the car would not start. The key got stock in the ignition and would not come out. It turns to all positions but there was no power at all. The steering wheel was locked also. The "battery and check engine soon" lights came on at one of the key positions. I started searching this forum today and it sounds like some members had issues with the ignition lock cylinder/ ignition switch..but don't really know where to start. He hasn't been able to remove the key yet and we'd appreciate if anyone could help us out. Thanks in advance.

my sons cobalt had the key problem this past week. we pulled the battery terms and reconnected them and voila the key came out. it could be something to do with the passkey 3 in the new cars . give it a try.
