Ignition stuck in on position

Ignition stuck in on position
I noticed about a week ago when I crank my blazer the ignition felt like it was sticking a little before it clicked back after starting. Today I went to start it and it got stuck in the on position and I couldn't turn it off so I had to unhook the battery. Anyone have any ideas on what's happened? Thanks. Also is it safe to spray a small amount of wd40 in the key slot? Don't figure it will work though. I also stuck a screwdriver inside the hole under the steering column but it never released the ignition.

Wd should be fine. Your getting looks but no one yet really has an answer. This kind of stuff happens with alot of steering columns. Spray it, turn the wheel, jiggle it. That kind of stuff. When it does go back try to remember what you you did.
