Default Intake Vacuum Line

I was just playing around with my 95 Blazer today and threw on a cold air system that I had laying around. It isnt built for a blazer so I cant hook up the vacuum hose(i think that is what it is atleast). What will this effect? I drove it around a bit and it seems to be running fine but will this hurt anything in the long run? If it will I will just have to drill a hole in the intake to stick it back in but I was just wondering. Thanks!

The line that hooks into the intake piping is for the crankcase breather fresh air return. You can buy a small filter at most autoparts stores to put on the valve cover where the other end of that hose connects in and have it perform the same as it normally did connected to the intake pipe.
