2000 LT. 4.6, auto 2wd, Horn works very seldom. I have noticed that if I moved the steering wheel up or down, sometimes, it will let it work the next push. But it seems that is getting less and less. I think that I have the problem in the switch but am scared to death of trying to remove the air bag in fear of either activation, or not being able to get it back together properly or whatever else might go wrong. I have thought many times of changing my name to Murphey.
Is there anyone that will take the time to detail for me the right way to remove the air bag on the steering wheel and whatever else I might not known to check and overlooked. I have the 3 vol. set manual, but in all that have not been able to find procedure to remove the airbag.
Thanks for anyhelp....

If moving the steering wheel allows the horn to work, it almost sounds like you've got a broken wire in the steering column harness...

Yes, this is how I understood your original post. If I had thought it was while turning the steering wheel, I would have suggested checking out the clockspring. Something may be wearing on the harness at the tilt joint.
