intermittent B1036
My 98 blazer has a sir light that goes on and off intermittently. I scanned for codes and found B1036 - rt ft discriminating sensor open or shorted to voltage - I inspected the harness and connectors- all look good. The brackets on both ft sensors are kind of rusty and i know that the rt ft sensor supplies the ground for both. Has anybody had this fault? I was wondering if the ground is thru the bracket or is supplied by the harness. I think my problem is the sensor itself, can anyone tell me how to test the sensor is there a check with my ohm meter?thanks
I just asked the same question you did in Sept about B1036 code before I found your post. I cleaned the contacts on the harness to the drivers side sensor with electrical contact cleaner and my trouble cleared for a week. I have to remove the skid plate to get to the passenger side sensor connection. Will try that next.
