Jumping RPMs

You were right...while driving today I noticed that the RPMs were a little high and it felt as if it was going to jump again so I tapped the breaks just enough for the lights to kick on but not slow me down and the RPMs dropped to where they should be.

I guess my question is what should I do next? I'm assuming that this fix is a little out of my league. Do you think this is going to be a pricey fix?

It could be as easy as replacing the TCC solenoid in the valve body, but it also could be as difficult as replacing the torque converter.
