I just figured it out the other day that the ignition distributor is shot on it. Just purchased another one tonight from advance auto but won't be able to install it until friday or saturday. hopefully this is the issue and it'll be ready to roll. Already did the tdc on it today

It is easy peasy ! Hint: Line up the dimple on the gear,only one side has it, with the orange line-mark, on the lower shaft, that faces front when you drop it in and it will rotate to the "6" on the housing when it seats.
