Default Keep getting code 1345

I had recent my intake gasket changed and I started getting code 1345, the book says if after removing the distributor you get code 1345 you have the distributor in wrong. we checked the distributor and it was 1 tooth off. we fixed it now it runs better, but im still getting the code it wont come on until the motor is shut off for about an hour and i start it back up.

P1345 will set if the distributor is off one or more teeth. Check camshaft retard: If the distributor is off one tooth, cam retard will be approximately +27 degrees or -27 degrees. To get the distributor in correctly, remove the distributor cap and rotate the crankshaft clockwise with a socket and ratchet until the rotor lines up with the "6" on the distributor housing, (arrow points to front of engine):

Next, check the timing marks on the vibration dampener, they should be lined up like this:

If the lines are close, but not lined up perfectly, slowly rotate the crankshaft manually with the socket and ratchet until they are lined up, (you shouldn't have to turn the crankshaft more than just a few degrees). Then remove the distributor and reinstall it so the rotor points to the "6" when the distributor is fully seated against the lower intake manifold.

Camshaft retard should be checked, and adjusted if necessary, whenever the distributor is removed. It requires the use of a scan tool capable of accessing cam retard, (the cheapie scan tools can not access it).
