Default Key turns too far

I've searched the forum for a similar issue to what I have and haven't found anything. The key turns and starts the car just fine. Most of the time when turning the car off it works fine. But lately when turning it off it goes past lock to ACC. I wouldn't notice it except when I pull the key out and the door is opened the chime rings like the key is still in. Do you think it's an issue with the ignition lock cylinder or possibly the ignition lock housing ? Maybe even the ignition switch itself ? I'm open to suggestions.....

Had the same problem, check that the key is not worn away with constant use, The key is made of 'softer' metal than the actual barrel/lock.

Shouldn"t the key stay in when in the ACC position, as in I shouldn't be able to pull it out?

Lock cylinder and key are worn your best bet is to remove cylinder and take to locksmith to have re keyed cheaper if you remove yourself. Mine is so worn I can remove while engine is running doesn’t really bother me enough to break down Colum yet you can by a cylinder from parts store but won’t match your doors
