I have a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer and when I lock or unlock the doors with my keyless entry remote I do not get a horn chirp.

Is there a way to enable the horn chirp or is this standard?

I have a 2000 model and I have to push the lock button twice in order to get the "horn chirp" and I do not get it at all when I unlock.

 

yea you have to hit the lock button twice to get the horn to go. it doesn't do it when you unlock it.

If it is a factory remote keyless entry system and the horn works normally, then you should get the chirp when you press the 'lock' button twice. Do you know if the transmitter (key fob) is original or not? Do all the doors lock with the double-push?

 

It may be possible to enable the horn chirp, however, this option may only be accessible via a Tech 2 scan tool (aka dealer).
