Man I really gotta look at what you're drivin'. I saw '98 and immediately thought Blazer. In '98 Blazers, there were two tanks used. Late '98 was the transition to plastic on the 4 door.

For a '98 S10 w/ 2.2L I4, looks as though you can pickup a new steel tank at your favorite autoparts store. I just looked them up on PartsAmerica.com (Advanced Autoparts); the Spectre is $250 and the Dorman is $265.

A new pump would be around $300 and I would go for an AC Delco unit (MU110) from RockAuto.com unless you have an AC Delco retailer close (check at ACDelco.com).

The tank is a bit cheaper from RockAuto.com as well, however shipping will undoubtably be higher.

Hope this helps in your decision... Ofcourse, if it were me, I would do it myself as soon as an opportunity came available.
