Leaking inside of truck.
So a couple of months ago, I went to adjust my driver side seat which is electric, and noticed that it wasn't working. I took it to my mechanic, and after doing several tests, he finally lifted up the carpet on my driver's side, and found that the area underneath the carpet was totally soaked in some liquid. The wires for the power seat, had rotted out as a result of the wetness. I thought it was my floor mats, but I have checked my husky liners, and do not see any holes, cuts, or tears in it. It can't be my heater core, because I recently had it replaced, and I do not have any fogging of my windshield. After reading one post on here, I read that it could be a windshield washer line. Does that windshield washer line run underneath the driver side carpet? What are other possilbe causes?
Yea, my mechanic told me that it could've even started a fire. So I really need to get it checked out. Is there anything else it could possibly be? Also, would you happen to know where exactly that washer line is (for example, would it be right there once I lift up the carpet?) Thanks.
Yesterday, I decided to take out the husky liner, and then I actually put my nose on the carpet and smelled it. It really didn't smell like RainX, which is the winshield washer fluid that I am using now. It actually smelled like water that has been sitting there for a while. Both my mechanic and a friend of mine told me that I should get the windshield checked out for any leaks. They said that although I have no leaks on the dash board, water runs down the side through the metal somehow. What do you guys think?
