Fuel and Temp gauge inoperative

Default Fuel and Temp gauge inoperative

Hi.
I have a 98 Chevy Blazer, from time to time the instrument panel star acting up.
1. the Fuel and Temp gauge are dead
2. Security, Low fuel and Batt lights are ON
and the car will not start.

One of the many service shops is telling me to change the IPC and actually I don know what to do.

Please Assist>

Sounds like a ignition switch failure to me. Search and decide for yourself though.

I know is my decision but to many stories. From the computer to the instrument panel or a short wire.

How can I test the ignition switch?
