Default lean mixture/trouble code w/hard start

what I have here is this, after sitting for roughly 8 hours, my blazer has a terrible time starting it'll just turn over and no fire. Now what throws me off is if I hook up jumpers to it, it starts alot faster although the battery is brand new(2 weeks old) all the voltages check out and the charging system checks out ok. I even disconnected the battery over night just to make sure there was no draw. I also found that I have a loss of power with heavy acceleration, if I let off of the gas a littleit evens out... I'm stumped. I changed cap and rotor and fuel filter today and have plugs and wires to install yet( ran out of daylight) but I think there is something else. Could O2 sensor be a culprit? What smell would a bad cat let off, sulfur? Thanx in advance!!

Might be a bad coil. Do you ever get a backfire when you give it a good acceleration? Your title says 'lean mixture/trouble code w/hard start'. What code is the engine throwing and what makes you think it has a lean mixture?

Yah bad cats do let of sulfur smell, you can also try knocking on it nothing should rattle. I dont think that would be the issue though since it doesnt like starting cold. It could be an O2 sensor but you will need to hook it up to an obd2 scanner to view the sensor functioning. Rriddle might be on to something with the coil going bad since something seems to be taking far to much power at start and this would also impact your acceleration.

Wow, I almost gave up on you guys, LOL! The codes are lean mixture bank 1&bank2, and an o2 sensor code, now I'm wondering if the lean fuel mixture is caused by the o2 sensor, or if the o2 sensor code is from the lean fuel mixture......????....and what is the culprit
