Looking for some ign switch info
I read somewhere here after searching that there is a wire coming from the ign switch that powers the gauges, and the trans computer... I can't find that thread again for the life of me, but I was wondering if anyone knew which wire it would be. This is for a 97 jimmy.
I have attached relays inline of the output power wires to help take the load off of the switch, but I didn't do all of them. I put 3 relays in, and had no issues with them. I am experiencing a lower voltage reading on the gauge. It's reading ~13-13.5, but tester at the battery and alt are showing 14.2. Also, everytime I push the brake or put it into reverse the fuel gauge spikes up for a fraction of a second, then goes normal. Using the turn signal makes it do the same, but everytimr the blinker goes on. I also have a soft shifting trans. I read in the technical thread that certain circumstances of low voltage can trip a code and have the trans command a soft shift. Other than these weird things, everything is fine. I used to have a problem with getting stuck in third gear, or the trans slipping when shifting into third, but that seems to be fixed after I changed out the solenoids.
Any help or info is greatly appreciated.
