Loss of power 02 blazer
#11
So I took the blazer back to the shop (pretty pissed off) and after they kept it for a day they say the CC is in fact bad. Like I thought the whole time. They claim that the spider did need to be replaced since it was bleeding out into the engine (which they claim caused the backfire). And now I found out I installed the spider wrong so they say. The plastic plenum didn't want to go over the spider that well and I assumed tightening he bolts would bring the plenum down evenly on the spider. But I guess it didn't. So now I have to take that stupid plastic plenum back off and try and reinstall it.
Anyone have a trick to get that plenium to drop down over the spider? The shop guy mentioned greeseing the ruber gasket. I also have two 10 mm nuts that I couldn't figure out where they went. I know where one of the nuts is supposed to go but I have no clue where the other one goes.

kinda the story I thought I would hear/read....grease the rubber o ring/injector electrical unit and inside the plenum real good and it should go-I sometimes use an upholstery tool/screwdriver to assist carefully prying the injector unit up using the plenum to CAREFULLY pry against....make sure there are no restrictions where the plenum seats..my guess is they got something under it and continued to tighten....the nuts..they are most likely around the throttle body someswheres...either holding the throttle linkage to the intake or the throttle linkage to the throttle body or there is one on the drivers side of the intake holding a metal bracket which holds a clip which holds a wire-good luck..Jerry-sorry for my rambling-hope it helps...

Thanks jerry
I noticed a clicking noise coming from the dash. I can only guess that the noise is due to the broken sensor next to the number 5 plug. It almost connects but doesn't quite. I already have the replacement connector from the junkyard but would like to know if you think that's the reason for the noise.
My guess is it's trying to send signal to gauge and since there is not a could connection it's making that noise at the gauge. What sensor is that anyway? Shop guy said its temperature sensor but I thought from the position it would be oil pressure sensor
