Well, you can try that, but way back in the nineties I was on the Mustang forums and if I recall, there was a year or so of bad pumps... Maybe 2nd sourced, not Walbro.
Several tried in-lines {as well as for radical engine mods} and most settled that the best bet was a High Performance In-tank.
