Completed the reassembly yesterday, engine fired up first try (after waiting 24 hours for RTV to fully cure). I ran the engine long enough to bleed air out of the new coolant, then closed up the radiator and changed the oil. Drove it around about 30-45 minutes and ran like a top.

I highly recommend labeling all connectors and taking your time on all steps. The tip about using old bolts to guide the manifold back in place is a very nice tip, made reassembly a sure-thing rather than a "hope I got it right" experience.

I acknowledge that I worked slowly, intentionally, but even knowing how to do it now I cannot understand how a shop could get thru this process in 4 hours.

Congrats on getting it done and reporting on using the bolts as guides. I wish I had thought to do that.

Replacing the LIM gaskets is one tbe two jobs that is a right of passage for any 4.3l Blazer owner. The other is the replacement of the remote oil filter lines. LOL
