OK, this weekend I'll pull the distributor cap and check it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

OK guys, I have figured it out. I had a SES light on and got the scary P0300, random cylinder misfire. I hooked up a scanner and drove it around and found that it was missing on all cylinders but seemed to trend towards cylinder four. This got me thinking about the ignition coil.

After I started to pay attention, it did it much worse when it was hot. Since the ignition coil sits right on top of the engine, I have read that they also heat up and interior parts and warp into a position where they ground out.

I found an ignition coil at autozone for $40. Only hitch is that the stock coil is riveted on, so i had o drill those out but the new one came with new mounting bolts. Put it on and took it out tonight, runs just like it used too. Now i'm not afraid to punch it in traffic anymore!!! So great to have my beast back. Thanks for all the help!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I changed the distrubutor rotor, cap, wires, and plugs. So that only left the coil and distributor.

my 2000 blazer is also lurching like you have been saying when i accelerate normal and just keep it at a normal speed the rpm willl move up and down a little for a few seconds every now and then, and also when i go to take off from a stop it acts like it want to go then kinda bogs down then will take off again... im thinkin i need to get a tune up since it has the original wires and plugs at 62,000miles, also when i crank up and it only does this in the mornings it idles rough and drives really rough for about 10mins then quits and the check engine light flashes for the 10 mins and then stays on the rest of the time
