Default minor heat problem

annoying problem. after my 2004 blazer really warms up I get warm air from the floor vents (heat turned off) if I turn the fan on. dealer says this is normal. am I the only one experiencing this? on a mild day, 75 degrees, I need a/c after a while to keep my feet cool.

yea, i get this. especially on the passenger side. i believe that its due to a lack of insulation between the heater core and kick panel.you could try pulling out your lower dash kick panels and attach insulation material to the inner side of the kick pannels, that should cut down on the heat. - you can buy the insulation at almost any parts store or from summit or jegs.

Could be a couple of things. The flapper that directs air to the floor vents may not be closing. Or you can try pushing the recirc button on the HVAC controls which shuts off air coming in from the outside. The newer vehicles are constantly on "vent" without this button pressed. It does "not" work if the defroster is on though.
