So some idiot parked to close to my blazer and clipped my mirror. Luckily the glass itself is undamaged but they ripped the back cover clean off. So I start looking at replacements and notice a common complaint is that the replacements vibrate unlike the originals. So my question is, would I be able to just replace the cover?

And yeah, I'm pretty ticked off about the situation.

The best thing would probably be a used one from a junkyard. I've never seen just that broken part for sale separately.

 

I got one from ebay once, wrong color but paintable.

 

I would just look for a used one, easy to swap and cheap at a yard.


But to be "that guy", I wouldve parked close to you without causing damage, for not parking in your "lines"... 😇

 

It does appear that OP's mirror in in the wrong parking space...
