What is the black box on the '03 Blzr 2dr behind the drvr's side rear wheel?

What is the black box on the '03 Blzr 2dr behind the drvr's side rear wheel?
I have a 4 WD 2door 2003 with a mysterious black box behind the driver's side rear wheel. It is about 10 " long, 5 " wide, and about 8" high with three connectors going to it. Could it be the Evap canister since it is so close to the gas tank ? I noticed it when I was looking at replacing the rear leaf spring shackle. TIA, Jim in SC.

George, thanks for the quick reply and the photo. That is it. three tube connectors and electrical connectors I missed. I was thinking of a small mud flap to prevent mud and rain from being slung up by the rear tire and causing problems with the cannister. Even though I have stock wheels and tires, I could see that being a problem.
