Am changing trans filter and gasket on my 2000 Blazer 4wd.

I bought 6 quarts of Mobil ATF D/M fluid. Is this appropriate for my truck?

It says recommended for applications requiring GM DEXRON IIIH, Ford Mercon and Allison C-4.

Not recommended for applications requiring GM DEXRON VI.

Yep you're good to go. Ive used the Mobil ATF D/M in my trans and t-case... probably not going to need all 6 Qts though.

On the bottles of dextron VI it says it compatible with all lower versions of dextron.
So why is It not recommended for a fluid change....just asking. .

 

Dexron VI is backward compatible, but new transmissions requiring it's properties (full synth being one of them) won't handle the earlier versions. It'll work fine in S10s.
