I'm plannin on replacing the motor and tranny in my 96 2 door with a lower mileage used one. I know rebuilding or v8 swap would be the best option but money is an issue. What year 4.3's will work? its a W motor in it, and I have a couple options on replacements but I'd like to know what year i could go up to for a simple swap out..and same question on transmissions.

 

96 & 97 are very similar and would be the easiest swap.
